I am delighted to be here visiting with Christine today and equally delighted to be celebrating the forthcoming release of my latest novel, The Summer of New Beginnings which debuts on March 27^th.

Although I’ve written 18 novels and received a number of literary awards, this book has special meaning for me. It is a story of sisters and, as anyone who is blessed with having a sister knows, there will be good times and bad times but through it all, you would lay down your life for your sister. After all, she is your sister.

When I began writing this novel, I did not actually plan to model the girls after my sister and myself, but somehow it happened. In writing about Meghan, I saw myself—a person who shoulders responsibility for everything and everybody; a person who refuses to let go of the things she loves. Tracy is the exact opposite. She is my sister Donna, born again and ready to grab life by horns and hang on for the ride.

The sisters in this book are so real that I found it easy to laugh with them, cry with them, and cheer them on as they overcame their individual challenges. We never get the chance to step back in time and relive the special moments of our life, but for me, this was just such a journey, and I loved every minute of it.

I truly hope that you will enjoy reading this novel as much as I enjoyed writing it.
