Release Day – and a Contest!
What better way to celebrate the release of Sweet Lake than with prizes? I’m giving away TWO Amazon gifts cards ($25 and $10) and TWO autographed copies of Sweet Lake. This contest is open internationally.
To enter, please answer this question in a comment below the post:
Which one of the Sweet Lake Sirens do you most resemble, and why?
In future books, the eccentric Sirens will continue to share the spotlight with the three young women bringing the Wayfair Inn back to its former glory. Count on more squabbles, and more antics like crafts-and-warfare planning. The Sirens play a pivotal role in next summer’s The Comfort of Secrets. And they’re already bringing laughter and tears to the third book in the series, which I’m now writing.
Don your thinking cap, choose your Siren, and explain how you’re similar. There’s a little sassy (or sweet) Siren in every woman. I can’t wait to read your responses! And please: read the book before you enter. I’ll only add your entry to the contest if you’ve explained which Sweet Lake Siren you most resemble, and why.
This contest has ended. The winners will be announced in my late March newsletter. If you aren’t already receiving my newsletter, please sign up here.
There is a little bit of me in each one, so I can’t choose just one. Love them all and am glad to have the traits of each one; makes me a more interesting person.
Looking forward to reading this an would live to win. But wishing you all the best with this book.
Never having read any of your books (Sweet Lake is a Want to Read though!) I would have a hard time comparing myself to one of the Sirens. I’m definitely not what is traditionally thought of as a siren though! It looks like I better get a book and start reading to find out, eh?
Thank you for sharing and for the contest. It would be great to be a winner!
I have not read any of the series yet to know but I do have this book on kindle. Just haven’t gotten to it yet.
Haven’t read any of your books yet so can’t answer the question. But will be looking for them.
I think Linnie is who I connect with…She’s set in her life and when things change and upend it, she has to be open to that change. She may not understand or want that outcome but it’s best for her. My life has been a lot like that. Changes have been thrown in to my path and I haven’t liked them but, the outcome is what I need…A new path.
I haven’t read this series yet, so I have no idea. I am very intrigued though and adding to my ‘to read’ list.
Not sure. I believe there is a little bit of each of the Sirens in me. Can’t decide which one would be more like me.
I would say the one that resembles me would be Frances. Always in control and leading everyone onward. I’ve been told by my Dr. that she sees me calm when I know I’m in control of a situation. But, when left to someone else, I get anxious. I’m not bossy but do have a tendency to get people moving, and make plans for events. When we built our own house, I somehow became the leader. When we moved in, someone made a poster, had the names of every person who worked on the house and had my name as Leader, after which they wrote “it’s an ugly job but someone had to do it”.
A comglomerate of all? Tried so hard to be a sweet kid but the sass just could not contain itself and BAMMO! out i has popped…..
To be honest, I haven’t read any of your books yet. Always looking for something new to read though 🙂
I am not sure I haven’t read it yet.
I think I most resemble Linnie. She seems more straight laced like me.
I haven’t read them yet but I did read the blurbs and based on that I’d say Cat Mendoza. Because I can relate to always choosing the wrong man. 🙂
I haven’t read this series yet. You are a new author to me and I would really like the sound of your books and have added them to my TBR list. Looking forward to reading them.
I haven’t had chance to read any of these books yet other than The Second Chance Grill & I empathized with several of the characters. Most people perceive me as being very strong & confident in character, I do have an inner strength but am also a very anxious & sometimes nervous person inwardly, I don’t feel that confidence in my abilities that other people seem to believe I have , but I am a fairly organized person and a good long lasting friend
I have no idea, since I have not read them as yet. Now when I do, I will probably be thinking of that question!
I haven’t read any of your books yet but I’m a fan of Bette Lee Crosby and she’s a fan of yours. That’s good enough for me; so, I look forward to finding out which Siren I’m most like. 🙂
Linnie, we could be sisters.
Need to read ,but would love to win
I’m sorry I haven’t read any of your books yet. But they are on
I am more like Frances. More level headed and in control of things. But, i love Silvia. Her temper and quick wit is awesome. It makes her a fun and unique person
You are a new author to me so I haven’t read any of your books yet.
I have not been able to read your books yet. But I have never thought myself as a siren. I have friends that I have thought as being that way but never myself.
Haven’t read any of your books yet. However, Sweet Lake sounds compelling!
I think I’m most like Frances. She’s tall and sensible, and I like the way she leads the Sirens. She is reassuring and at least so far seems like a calming influence. Happy release day!
I haven’t read any yet although I have heard lots from friends who compare me to Linnie. Not much liking change but accepting it’s what must happen in the end. I look forward to seeing if this comparison is true or not.
Thank you for this opportunity to win.
I haven’t read the book but from the blurbs, I am not at all like Cat. The other character shares some of my qualities but not all–thank goodness”)
I think I’m most like Linnie, hate change but do whatever I have to, I could be part Frances, as people claim I calm them, especially children or older people. Thanks for the chance
I havent read any yet. but would like to
I am not “a” siren, I am “the” siren. I have been married 5 times, every one of which had never before been married nor had any children. Three were older by a bit, but two of my husbands were 10, and 20 years younger than me. Top that for pure siren ability!!!! Lol
Sue, there’s no question that you are an honorary Siren. Norah would be proud!
New author for me. Haven’t read yet but how fun to be sweet and sassy!
I have not read this one yet so don’t know which Siren would fit me.
Do you have one that is an animal tamer, restless world wanderer?
Not yet, Susi–but more Sweet Lake Sirens will be introduced in future Sweet Lake series books!
Congrats on the release, Christine! Gorgeous cover and wonderful story between it!
Silvia sounds like a siren with sass! She tells it like it is, but I see a big heart. I’m glad the Sirens have her. Would love either a copy of the book or a chance to buy more through Amazon, so thank you for the opportunity!
I haven’t read either one so I don’t know which one I resemble. Great giveaway. Thank you!
I haven’t read any of your books yet! But I would hope I’m a little like all of your sirens! Or I could be any siren you wish. (LOL).
Congratulations on your release!!!
This book looks like something I would love to read! I haven’t had the honor to read one of your books but I am looking forward to read a new author. Thank you for the newsletters and congrats on your new release. Fingers crossed that I will win ????
I have not read your books yet and so can’t compare which Siren I most resemble. I think I’m about the farthest thing away from a Siren you can get. I’d love to read your books to learn more about them though.
I have to say I can relate to Frances. I think she’s always plotting ahead, but in a good way. She wants what is best for the town & its people. I think it’s admirable.
Loved the book!
Many thanks for your answer, Renee. I agree–Frances is a real planner.
that’s a tough one to answer because the way we see our selves is always different from the way others see us and our mood that day will always be different in how we relate to characters
Probably Linnie. I am not a fighter, I like to compromise and as the oldest of three children everyone came to me to be the negotiator and calm one.
A wonderful answer! Many thanks, Agnes. Any family with a calm negotiator in its midst is very lucky!
I have not read any of the books in this series so I wouldn’t know. I have added them to my “To Read” list! Thank you for the opportunity to win!
